Cleveland Inventor Designs Safer Hospital Bed Tray

A certified nursing assistant from Cleveland, Tennessee, has developed the Easy Bed Tray, an alternative to standard hospital tables designed to mitigate fall risks. The invention addresses a common hazard in healthcare settings: patients using unstable, wheeled tray tables as makeshift walkers for support while moving.

The patent-pending device replaces conventional, mobile units that often tip when leaned upon by patients. By providing a more stable surface, the tray aims to reduce bedside accidents in hospitals, nursing homes, and home healthcare environments. Beyond its safety features, the unit incorporates integrated charging ports, ensuring electronic devices remain powered during use.

The project was submitted to the Knoxville office of InventHelp and is currently being marketed for licensing or manufacturing partnerships. Technical drawings and a functional prototype are available for industry review through the company’s Pittsburgh headquarters.
