Ugee Launches ArtPlay Pad to Turn Children’s Sketches into 3D Prints
Shenzhen-based developer Ugee is moving into the youth creative market with the ArtPlay Pad, a 12-inch tablet that bridges the gap between digital doodling and physical manufacturing. By pairing EMR pen technology with AI-driven 3D modeling, the device allows children to convert flat sketches into printable objects.

The tablet distinguishes itself from standard capacitive-touch devices by utilizing professional-grade Electro-Magnetic Resonance (EMR) technology. This approach provides 16K pressure sensitivity and a tactile, paper-like friction on its AG-etched glass screen, aiming to replicate the intuitive feel of traditional drawing for younger users. The hardware is built for sustained creative sessions, featuring a 2K display with TÜV SÜD low blue light certification to mitigate eye strain.
Beyond the drawing experience, the device integrates a specialized workflow for spatial creation. Users can leverage a lifetime license for ibisPaint and Tripo AI to transform 2D drawings into 3D models. These digital files are designed for direct export to the Ugee Funbox 3D printer, establishing a loop that connects conceptual design to tangible output. The system is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chip and 6GB of RAM, supported by a 7800 mAh battery rated for 18 hours of sketching. Available as of September 15, 2026, the unit includes an adjustable silicone case and is positioned as a comprehensive tool for both artistic exploration and STEM-based learning.
