Marine Veteran Victor Colon Details Combat PTSD in New Memoir

Colon’s narrative begins long before his enlistment in 2000. Raised in housing projects, he grappled with a tongue condition that caused a persistent stutter, making him a frequent target for neighborhood and family bullying. While sports eventually provided a path toward stability, a severe injury forced him to reconsider his trajectory, leading him to choose the Marine Corps over the risks of street life.

Following ten years of service, including two overseas combat deployments, Colon faced a different kind of adversary. The memoir documents his transition into civilian life, specifically his battle with post-traumatic stress disorder. By detailing the isolation that often follows the removal of the uniform, Colon offers an unvarnished look at the mental health challenges facing many veterans. The book is the first of a planned two-part series and is currently available through major retailers including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
