Hilton Boston Back Bay Adds Real Tennis to Executive Retreats

Corporate groups meeting at Hilton Boston Back Bay can now trade boardroom strategy for the 800-year-old game of Real Tennis. A new partnership with the historic Tennis & Racquet Club allows executives to step off-site for guided match play, offering a rare look at the sport once favored by Henry VIII.

The Sport of Kings Executive Retreat package leverages the proximity of the two institutions, located just steps from the Hynes Convention Center. Guests gain access to the private club’s court, using traditional wooden racquets and hand-stitched balls under the guidance of club professionals. The program is designed for groups of up to 12, with options to host private cocktail receptions or professional exhibition matches courtside.

General Manager Mohamed Hashesh noted that the initiative aims to provide memorable shared moments that video calls cannot replicate. This collaboration follows a multimillion-dollar renovation at the 401-room hotel, which updated its 15,000 square feet of meeting space and fitness facilities. By integrating the historic athletic club into the itinerary, the hotel highlights a shift toward incorporating wellness and local culture into traditional business travel. The retreat is currently available for booking, with customized arrangements for larger parties.
