WSG Brands Acquires Nasty Gal to Scale Fashion Portfolio
Nasty Gal, the fashion label synonymous with bold style and female autonomy, has been acquired by global management firm WSG Brands. The deal, announced September 15, 2026, positions the company to pivot from a niche online retailer toward a comprehensive lifestyle brand with an expanded global footprint.

WSG Brands intends to leverage the label’s existing cultural cachet to drive growth across multiple channels, including wholesale and direct-to-consumer markets. CEO Jack Cheika emphasized that the strategy involves maintaining the brand's core identity while introducing it to a new generation of shoppers. The firm plans to utilize licensing agreements to push the label into categories such as denim, footwear, jewelry, and travel gear.
Marketing efforts will pivot toward creator partnerships and experiential events to re-engage the community. This acquisition follows WSG’s recent purchases of Von Dutch in 2024 and Allbirds earlier this year, signaling a broader intent to consolidate culturally relevant brands under a single management umbrella. Further specifics regarding the product roadmap and distribution shifts are expected in the coming months.
