Hormel Foods and CIA Open Applications for 2028 Culinary Leadership Program
Accomplished chefs with at least a decade of professional experience can now apply for the National Culinary Enrichment and Innovation Program, a year-long leadership track. Launched by Hormel Foods and the Culinary Institute of America, the initiative selects 20 professionals for advanced training across three immersive learning modules.
The program, which began in 2008, focuses on fostering innovation and leadership skills within the foodservice sector. Participants will travel to Culinary Institute of America facilities for intensive sessions in Napa Valley, California, in April 2027; San Antonio, Texas, in October 2027; and New York in April 2028. Hormel Foods covers all tuition and meal costs for the selected cohort, aiming to invest in the next generation of industry experts.
Candidates must demonstrate a long-term commitment to the culinary field and possess proven leadership capabilities. While no specific academic degree is required, the curriculum is designed for seasoned professionals prepared for a fast-paced, interactive environment. Interested chefs have until November 30, 2026, to submit their applications via the program's official portal. According to Annemarie Vaupel, vice president of foodservice marketing at Hormel Foods, the initiative is vital for developing leaders capable of adapting to an evolving industry landscape.
