ENGWE Launches Eagle Electric Dirt Bike to Capture Youth Market
Fourteen-year-old Carter Metcalfe, an advocate for overcoming personal adversity through cycling, is spearheading the debut of the ENGWE Eagle. Designed for off-road recreation, the electric dirt bike aims to introduce a new generation to freeriding, with a high-profile mentorship event scheduled for this year's Red Bull Rampage in Utah.

The Eagle signals a departure from ENGWE’s focus on urban mobility, positioning the brand firmly within the competitive off-road sector. At the heart of the launch is a campaign titled Born to Fly, which highlights Metcalfe’s personal journey with Tourette syndrome and his subsequent discovery of confidence through mountain biking. This narrative of progression will culminate at Red Bull Rampage, where Metcalfe will train alongside professional freerider Tom van Steenbergen, bridging the gap between amateur enthusiasm and elite-level skill.
Technically, the bike is engineered to balance raw output with rider safety. It features a 3,200W peak power motor capable of delivering 220Nm of torque, allowing for steep climbs and rapid acceleration. The hardware includes a 52V battery system, dual suspension for absorbing trail impacts, and hydraulic disc brakes. A magnetic kill switch is integrated as a standard safety measure for less experienced riders.
ENGWE is pricing the Eagle at $899, marking a significant discount from its $1,199 MSRP. To incentivize early adoption, the company is bundling a $276 riding kit—consisting of goggles, gloves, knee pads, and a U-lock—for the first 300 customers. By pairing aggressive performance specs with accessible entry pricing, the firm is attempting to lower the barrier to entry for youth-oriented electric motor sports.
