By processing this context, the assistant can flag upcoming deadlines during travel or provide briefings before meetings. When utilized through Snap’s AR glasses, these insights appear directly in the user’s field of vision. While currently available in an iOS preview, a broader early-access version for Mac is accessible via a waitlist.

Technically, the system relies on a hybrid of open-source models hosted in the U.S. and local large language models. Spokesperson Cassie Bumgarner noted that the company iterates on this model mixture regularly to optimize performance. Despite the utility, Snap faces the significant hurdle of user privacy. To mitigate concerns regarding data harvesting, the company maintains that it cannot access personal content processed by the tool and has pledged not to use such data for model training or targeted advertising.
