HCLTech Launches Pulse Unit to Scale AI for Mid-Market Enterprises

A $400 billion market opportunity has prompted HCLTech to launch Pulse, a dedicated business unit designed to help mid-sized enterprises navigate the complexities of AI adoption. By targeting companies with revenues between $500 million and $5 billion, the firm aims to bridge the gap between initial experimentation and full-scale deployment.

The new unit consolidates HCLTech’s expertise in data, cybersecurity, and engineering into a single service model. Historically, organizations in this revenue bracket have relied on a fragmented ecosystem of niche providers to manage their digital foundations. Pulse replaces that disjointed approach with an integrated agenda, focusing on safe implementation rather than simple automation.

According to C Vijayakumar, CEO and Managing Director of HCLTech, the primary goal is to help enterprises rethink their core processes to extract measurable business value from AI investments. Ashish Kumar Gupta, who heads the New Business Incubation Group, noted that the unit is built on the premise that these clients require more senior-level focus and accountability to accelerate their time to value.

Everest Group’s Peter Bendor-Samuel highlighted that the mid-market technology services sector is currently expanding at an annual rate of 7–9%. As these companies move past pilot projects, the market is shifting to favor service providers capable of delivering both deep technical proficiency and industry-specific context. Pulse will address this demand by offering a tailored portfolio covering cloud modernization, AI strategy, and robust governance frameworks.
