Bolt and Lucid Partner to Deploy 25,000 Autonomous Vehicles in Europe

Bolt and Lucid Group have announced a strategic partnership to launch a fleet of at least 25,000 autonomous vehicles across major European cities. The collaboration leverages Lucid’s software-defined vehicle platform and NVIDIA Hyperion architecture to develop SAE Level 4 autonomous services tailored for the European market and its regulatory environment.

The initiative marks a significant expansion for Bolt, which aims to integrate 100,000 autonomous vehicles into its shared mobility platform by 2035. Under the agreement, the two companies will co-design vehicles based on Lucid’s upcoming Midsize platform, drawing on Bolt’s decade of operational data from more than 850 cities. Bolt will manage the fleet’s commercial operation, including the development of necessary infrastructure and local city partnerships.

To execute this strategy, both companies have established specialized internal divisions. Lucid Technologies will consolidate the automaker’s artificial intelligence and autonomy functions, while Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions will oversee the integration and commercialization of the fleet. The partners intend to work closely with European regulators to ensure that the deployment meets stringent safety and security requirements across the region.
