Viabot Secures $24 Million to Scale Autonomous Property Maintenance
Santa Clara-based robotics startup Viabot has closed a $24 million Series A funding round to expand its outdoor maintenance platform. Led by Walden International, the investment brings the company’s total capital to $43 million, fueling plans to scale its autonomous sweeper fleet and grow its engineering and sales teams.
The company’s flagship product, the Viabot One, currently services 25 million square feet of commercial property across several U.S. states, including California, Texas, and Florida. The robot functions as a mobile, self-charging unit capable of clearing debris up to 10 inches while providing supplementary security features like loitering detection. Its intelligence is built on a foundation of 5 billion square feet of multimodal data, allowing for dynamic path planning and autonomous tool swapping in complex outdoor environments.
Viabot’s growth mirrors a broader surge in the robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) sector, which saw a 42% demand increase in 2024. By targeting the $9.1 billion annual expenditure on commercial litter cleanup, the startup aims to automate labor-intensive property management tasks for Fortune 500 retailers and large-scale developers. Co-founded by CEO Gregg Ratanaphanyarat and CTO Dawei Ding, the firm will utilize this new capital to accelerate product development and broaden its national footprint, meeting enterprise demand for autonomous infrastructure that integrates into existing campus and commercial workflows.
