Five Star Technology Solutions Joins $160M Indiana STEM Initiative
With a potential $160 million in funding over the next decade, the NSF IMPACT Engine has tapped Five Star Technology Solutions to bridge the gap between K-12 classrooms and Indiana’s burgeoning musculoskeletal health industry, aiming to cultivate a robust local talent pipeline for the state's orthopedic sector.
Led by Indiana University, the initiative unites over 170 public and private partners to accelerate innovation in musculoskeletal health. The program secured an initial $15 million for its first two years, bolstered by an additional $179 million in private commitments. The coalition’s long-term goals are ambitious: training 1,900 workers, launching 85 startups, and generating over $535 million in economic impact for the state.
Five Star Technology Solutions will focus on integrating real-world career discovery into K-12 curricula, specifically building upon successful STEM models established in Warsaw Community Schools. By partnering with organizations like OrthoWorx, the company intends to formalize the connection between classroom instruction and regional workforce needs. Dr. Jason Roseberry, CEO of Five Star, noted that the scale of the IMPACT Engine allows for a broader implementation of career-connected learning that prepares students for the state’s evolving technology-driven economy.
