Oracle Secures 568 MW of Renewable Power from ENGIE in Texas
Oracle is scaling its Texas cloud and AI operations with a new 568 MW renewable energy supply deal sourced from ENGIE North America. The agreement leverages a portfolio of wind energy assets within the ERCOT market, marking a significant step toward Oracle’s goal of matching all data center electricity with carbon-free sources by 2035.

The partnership emphasizes ENGIE's strategy of pairing owned generation assets with market expertise to serve high-demand industrial clients. According to Julia Robin, Head of Infrastructure Planning and Sourcing for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, the move allows the company to support its expanding AI footprint without passing costs to Texas consumers. ENGIE, which has deployed 12 GW of renewable and storage capacity across North America over the past six years, views the deal as a model for addressing rapid electricity demand growth.
Interim CEO Anne-Laure Chassanite noted that the agreements are designed to provide the scalable, reliable energy necessary for Oracle’s long-term business objectives. By utilizing wind resources in the ERCOT grid, ENGIE aims to provide a stable, carbon-free energy supply that aligns with Oracle’s broader sustainability targets. The deal underscores the increasing pressure on major technology firms to secure dedicated, sustainable power as they expand data center operations in regions with rising energy consumption.
