Springwater Inventor Designs Deterrent for Persistent Backyard Pests
Frustrated by local wildlife raiding backyard bird supplies, a Springwater, Ontario inventor has developed the Squirrel Proof—a patent-pending feeder designed to block squirrels and chipmunks from accessing seed caches. The device aims to curb the recurring expenses homeowners face when pests compromise standard bird feeders.
The design focuses on securing the pole to prevent climbing, ensuring that only avian visitors can reach the food source. Beyond its functional utility, the unit features a durable, decorative aesthetic intended for easy installation by hobbyists. By limiting access to non-target animals, the feeder reduces the frequency of seed replenishment and equipment replacement.
Currently, the invention is being represented by InventHelp, which is seeking licensing agreements or outright sales to manufacturers. The project, cataloged as TRO-1674, includes a functional prototype and technical schematics available for review by interested parties.
