SMU Cox and MassChallenge Launch FinTech Coalition in Dallas

The partnership centers on the SMU Cox FinTech Accelerator, a four-month program designed to recruit global startups through a hybrid model. Selected companies will spend time in Dallas to refine their business cases, navigate regulatory hurdles, and engage directly with local financial institutions. This initiative is intended to provide founders with proximity to potential customers while offering North Texas investors and industry leaders a consistent pipeline of emerging technology.

Joshua Taylor, Executive Director at SMU Cox, emphasized that the goal extends beyond a single program. By creating an always-on platform for faculty, students, and alumni to collaborate with entrepreneurs, the university intends to foster a permanent ecosystem for innovation. MassChallenge, which has supported over 220 fintech startups since its inception, will provide the operational framework for the accelerator. Applications for the inaugural cohort open on October 6, 2026.
