Hainan Airlines Secures Five-Star Skytrax Rating for 15th Year
Fifteen years of consistent excellence have solidified Hainan Airlines’ position in the aviation industry. At the 2026 World Airline Awards in London, the carrier retained its prestigious SKYTRAX Five-Star rating while securing a spot among the world’s top 10 airlines, marking a milestone for the HNA Aviation Group subsidiary.

Beyond the overall ranking, the airline claimed top honors in multiple categories, including Best Airline in China and Best Business Class Airline Comfort Amenities. Edward Plaisted, CEO of SKYTRAX, noted the carrier’s fourth-place finish in the World’s Best Cabin Crew category, highlighting its rising international influence. Zhu Tao, Chairman of Hainan Airlines, attributed these results to a focus on service innovation and the dedication of the company’s workforce.
The airline is currently scaling its operations, managing over 70 international and regional routes across five continents. Domestic growth remains equally prioritized, with the expansion of its Premium Express network to nine routes and the Free Trade Port Express to six. To facilitate this, ground services have been streamlined at major hubs such as Beijing, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, with connecting services now reaching 36 domestic departure points and 41 international locations.
Central to the brand’s identity is a three-tiered service philosophy: the DREAM series for lounge experiences, the HAI series for ground efficiency, and the CARE series for human-centric travel solutions. This strategy is complemented by localized culinary initiatives, such as the partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts to bring traditional Xi’an cuisine to in-flight menus. Looking forward, the carrier intends to integrate Eastern cultural elements with modernized safety and service protocols to support the ongoing development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
