Essity CFO Fredrik Rystedt to Step Down in 2027
After more than nine years as the financial architect of Essity, Fredrik Rystedt has signaled his intent to retire. The Stockholm-based hygiene and health giant confirmed the departure on Monday, setting in motion an immediate search for his successor to ensure a stable transition for the executive leadership team.
Rystedt will maintain his duties as CFO and Executive Vice President throughout the search process, providing continuity for the company's financial strategy. CEO Ulrika Kolsrud credited his tenure with bolstering the firm's balance sheet and driving long-term value, noting that their collaboration will remain focused on profitable growth until the handoff is complete.
Reflecting on his departure, Rystedt expressed pride in the platform built during his term, emphasizing his commitment to an orderly handover. The company expects to announce a replacement in the coming months, though no specific departure date has been set beyond the 2027 window.
