Q32 Bio to Present New Bempikibart Data for Alopecia Areata
Q32 Bio will unveil 36-week trial results and initial off-drug data for bempikibart at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Congress in Vienna. The findings from the SIGNAL-AA Phase 2a study focus on the drug's ability to maintain hair regrowth in patients with severe alopecia areata.
The late-breaking data, scheduled for presentation on September 30, 2026, highlights the performance of bempikibart, a fully human anti-IL-7Rα antibody. By blocking IL-7 and TSLP signaling, the therapy aims to re-regulate the adaptive immune system, addressing the underlying pathology of the condition. Arash Mostaghimi of Harvard Medical School will present both an oral session and a poster, detailing efficacy and biomarker results observed during the trial's Part B.
Jodie Morrison, CEO of Q32 Bio, stated that the results reinforce the company's commitment to providing targeted options for the approximately 700,000 Americans living with the disease. Beyond alopecia, the company is evaluating the potential of the bempikibart development program across other autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Following the formal congress presentations, the company plans to release the data on its corporate website.
