ExploRNA and Łukasiewicz-IChP Partner to Scale mRNA Cap Production
Warsaw-based biotech firm ExploRNA Therapeutics has joined forces with the Łukasiewicz Industrial Chemistry Institute to transition its proprietary mRNA cap analogs, including the AvantCap Q1 technology, into Good Manufacturing Practice production, bridging the gap between laboratory-scale innovation and the requirements of late-stage clinical trials.
The partnership addresses a bottleneck in the biopharmaceutical sector where the yield and translation efficiency of mRNA therapies rely heavily on precise co-transcriptional capping. By leveraging the synthesis expertise of the Łukasiewicz-IChP, ExploRNA aims to ensure a reliable supply chain for developers working on genetic medicines. This move allows the company to support its partners from initial research phases through to full-scale commercialization.
Prof. Jacek Jemielity, CEO of ExploRNA, noted that securing this manufacturing capability validates the scalability of the company’s synthesis processes.
