Vaughn College Secures Top Social Mobility Ranking in 2027 U.S. News List
For the second year running, the Queens-based Vaughn College has secured the number one spot for social mobility in the Northeast, according to the 2027 U.S. News & World Report rankings. The institution also cracked the top ten among New York state colleges, highlighting its success in fostering graduate career advancement.
The latest edition of the U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluates over 1,700 institutions, utilizing 17 specific metrics ranging from graduation rates to post-graduate earnings. Vaughn College distinguished itself further by placing 11th in the newly established category for Top Private Colleges in the North, and 11th in the rankings for Best Colleges for Veterans. These accolades arrive alongside the college’s consistent recognition for economic mobility, specifically its ability to transition students from lower income brackets to professional success.
Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo, President and CEO of Vaughn College, noted that the social mobility ranking serves as tangible proof of the institution's capacity to provide a transformational education. With a student-faculty ratio of 16 to 1, the college focuses on preparing its 1,600 students for specialized roles in engineering, technology, and aviation. Current data shows that 97 percent of graduates secure professional employment or pursue further education within one year of completing their degrees.
