Corgi Insurance Enters Tow Truck Market with Integrated Policy
San Francisco-based Corgi Insurance is diversifying its commercial trucking portfolio by launching a dedicated program for tow truck operators. The initiative consolidates Auto Liability, On-Hook, and Garage Keepers coverage into a single policy, addressing the specific liability challenges inherent in the recovery and storage of third-party vehicles.

Towing operations navigate a distinct risk landscape compared to standard freight carriers. While these vehicles spend significant time on public roads, the primary exposure arises from the physical handling, transport, and long-term storage of client property. By bundling these fragmented requirements into one umbrella, the carrier aims to simplify insurance management for business owners who previously relied on multiple policies and providers.
Josh Shih, Head of Underwriting at Corgi, noted that the industry's unique demands necessitated a shift away from generic commercial trucking models. The program leverages the company's existing AI-native underwriting infrastructure to manage these specialized risks. This expansion marks a strategic move to capture market share among smaller commercial transport businesses that require tailored coverage for the custody of external assets.
