C4 Energy Targets Sober-Curious Crowd With Beer-Flavored Drink
With one-third of consumers shifting toward energy drinks as an alternative to alcohol, C4 Energy is launching All Hopped Up. The new beverage mimics the crisp profile of a light beer with a citrus finish, aiming to capture the social atmosphere of tailgates and game-day celebrations without the buzz.

The Austin-based brand is moving beyond its traditional performance-focused roots to align with the growing sober-curious movement. Each 16-ounce can packs 200mg of caffeine and vitamin B12, intentionally formulated with zero sugar and no artificial colors to maintain a clean profile. Emily Hoyle, SVP of Marketing at Nutrabolt, noted the product serves consumers who want to participate in beer-centric social events without consuming alcohol.
This release signals a tactical pivot in C4’s distribution strategy. The company is debuting the product on TikTok Shop to leverage social-first discovery among Gen Z shoppers. To build momentum during the autumn season, C4 is also launching a mobile activation tour, with pop-up sampling events scheduled for college football hotspots in Columbus, Bloomington, and Madison throughout October. Six-packs are available for $14.99 online, with retail expansion expected to follow the initial digital rollout.
