York Space Systems Faces Securities Fraud Lawsuit Over Software Failures

Investors in York Space Systems have until October 30, 2026, to seek lead plaintiff status in a federal securities class action. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, targets alleged misrepresentations surrounding the company’s satellite software functionality and defense contract performance following its January 2026 IPO.

The complaint alleges that York Space Systems and its leadership provided misleading information regarding the company's operational readiness. According to the litigation, the firm failed to disclose that its onboard mission and payload software was not fully functional prior to satellite launches. These persistent deficiencies reportedly jeopardized critical milestones and created significant, undisclosed risks to multi-hundred-million-dollar contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense's Space Development Agency, specifically concerning Tranche 3 procurement.

Reed Kathrein, a partner at Hagens Berman, stated that the firm is investigating the timeline of when management became aware of these alleged operational failures. The class action covers investors who acquired common stock traceable to the company’s January 2026 IPO, as well as those who purchased securities between January 29 and May 11, 2026. Hagens Berman is also soliciting information from potential whistleblowers, noting the possibility of rewards under SEC programs for those providing original data regarding the company's internal practices.
