AirBorneo Airways seals four-year maintenance deal with Pratt & Whitney

The engine maintenance work will be centralized at Pratt & Whitney’s newly expanded facility in Singapore. This site serves as a primary regional hub, and the recent capacity increase aims to accelerate repair turnarounds for operators throughout the Asia-Pacific market. For AirBorneo, proximity to the Singapore center is expected to reduce downtime and improve aircraft availability for its intra-Borneo flight routes.

Anthony Rossi, vice president of Customer Service at Pratt & Whitney Canada, noted the deal focuses on managing engine costs while maintaining dispatch reliability. Megat Ardian Aminuddin, CEO of AirBorneo, emphasized that localizing repairs in Singapore provides the operational certainty required to sustain the airline's essential public service role. The PW127M engine remains a staple of the PW100 family, a platform that has logged over 200 million flight hours globally over the past four decades.
