EPAM powers EU’s first consolidated tape for equities
The European Union has launched its inaugural consolidated tape for shares and ETFs, relying on a cloud-native infrastructure engineered by EPAM Systems. Operational since September 14, 2026, the platform aims to dismantle decades of data fragmentation across 130 trading venues, providing investors with a unified, real-time stream of market information.

For years, European financial markets struggled with inconsistent and costly access to data scattered across dozens of countries. EuroCTP, a joint venture owned by 16 exchange groups, selected EPAM to design the technical backbone required to aggregate pre- and post-trade data under strict regulatory mandates. The project involved building a greenfield, cloud-native architecture capable of managing high-volume, low-latency streams while ensuring compliance with European financial standards.
EPAM’s delivery included the deployment of high-performance data processing mechanisms utilizing TimeBase technology and custom messaging middleware. Beyond the core data layer, the firm developed client-facing portals and outbound data access points using the FIX standard in SBE. According to EuroCTP CEO Eglantine Desautel, the partnership required a blend of technical precision and proactive governance to bring the live service to market. The platform now operates under the supervision of ESMA, serving as a centralized hub for market transparency across all 27 EU member states.
