Seatrium Delivers Final FSRU to Karpowership, Ending Eight-Year Project
The LNGT Türkiye has departed Singapore, marking the conclusion of a massive eight-year conversion program that saw seven LNG carriers transformed into Floating Storage and Regasification Units. The project, executed at Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard, finalizes a specialized fleet designed to supply gas to power plants across four continents.
This delivery signals the end of a long-standing industrial collaboration that began in 2018. Beyond the final vessel, the fleet includes the LNGT Africa, Asia, Europe, Antarctica, Americas, and Oceania. These units are integral to Karpowership’s global strategy of providing flexible energy access by linking floating gas storage directly to its fleet of power-generating ships.
The conversion process required deep integration of complex cryogenic and marine gas-handling systems. For Seatrium, the handover represents a milestone before the Admiralty Yard closes its operations to authorities by 2028. Karpowership officials noted that the partnership successfully moved beyond mere technical execution, establishing a foundation of operational trust that the companies intend to carry forward into future projects at the Tuas Boulevard Yard, specifically targeting next-generation power solutions.
