Novellia Named a 2026 Best Place to Work in New York City
A 240% increase in headcount over the past year has pushed Novellia onto Crain’s New York Business list of 2026 Best Places to Work. The recognition arrives as the patient data startup scales its operations following an $18 million Series A funding round and a rapid expansion of its platform.
The accolade is largely driven by internal sentiment, with the rankings formulated through independent surveys evaluating company culture, benefits, and organizational values. Shashi Shankar, co-founder and CEO, attributed the company’s internal climate to a patient-centric model that mirrors their product development. “I’ve watched people on this team turn a stranger’s worst day into relief,” Shankar said, noting that prioritizing the patient journey remains the primary motivator for the firm’s workforce.
Novellia now manages more than 100 million clinical records, a scale that has earned it additional industry recognition this year, including a 2026 Fierce Outsourcing Award for innovation in drug development and a MedTech Breakthrough Award for its data repository solution. As the company continues to aggressively hire, it is targeting mission-driven talent to support its goal of unifying decades of health data to accelerate medical research and patient care.
