The certification confirms that Envision Energy’s control systems meet rigorous international standards for industrial automation. By reaching the SL2 level, the company extends independent security verification from individual components to the entire wind farm ecosystem. This milestone follows a series of earlier certifications, including the IEC 62443-4-1 standard for secure development lifecycles and IEC 62443-4-2 for specific hardware components like PLCs.

Frank L. Blaimberger, Vice President at TÜV SÜD, noted that as energy infrastructure digitizes, independent verification becomes essential for maintaining trust in critical power assets. Yimin Lou, Chief Product Officer at Envision Energy, described the certificate as a foundational step rather than an end goal, emphasizing that the company intends to maintain these security protocols throughout the entire operational lifecycle of its assets to meet stringent European market requirements.
