GAC Quark Electric Drive Earns Top Honors in Geneva
A breakthrough in motor efficiency has earned GAC Group the Gold Medal with the Congratulations of the Jury at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. The recognition highlights a precision manufacturing process for ultra-thin amorphous stator cores that drastically reduces energy loss in electric vehicle powertrains.
By integrating these materials into the Quark Electric Drive 2.0, engineers have pushed peak motor efficiency to 99.03%, with the broader electric drive system achieving a CLTC operating efficiency of 94.184%. This technical refinement translates into real-world gains, extending driving range by 30 to 50 kilometers on a single charge compared to conventional setups.
This technology is already active within the Chinese market, powering the AION N60, 2027 AION RT, and 2027 AION i60 models. As production scales, GAC plans to integrate these high-efficiency cores across a broader range of its electric fleet, prioritizing energy conservation as a primary driver for vehicle performance.
