Nimisha Srivastava Named CEO of Slingshot Biosciences
Dr. Nimisha Srivastava has stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Slingshot Biosciences, shifting from her previous position as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. The transition, effective September 23, 2026, marks a change in leadership as the firm looks to scale its synthetic cell mimic technology.
Srivastava takes the helm from outgoing CEO Glenn Bilawsky. Board Chairman Nicolas Barthelemy credited her with playing a central role in the firm’s strategic execution and relationship management, noting that her familiarity with the company’s core technology makes her an ideal candidate for this next phase of development.
Before joining the Emeryville-based startup, Srivastava was a key member of the founding engineering team at Twist Bioscience, where she oversaw the scale-up of automated workflows and high-throughput DNA and RNA production. Her new mandate includes accelerating commercial growth and expanding the company’s presence across diagnostics, cell therapy, and drug development markets. Slingshot Biosciences, founded in 2012, specializes in synthetic cell mimics designed to provide consistent, shelf-stable alternatives to traditional biological reference materials in flow cytometry.
