Florida Poly Unveils $87 Million Student Achievement Center Design
A dramatic curved roofline and expansive glass façade define the new 138,000-square-foot Student Achievement Center, a facility designed to anchor Florida Polytechnic University’s expanding campus. Trustees reviewed the three-story blueprint on September 24, marking a shift toward accommodating the university's ambitious goal of 3,000 students by 2030.
The $87 million project aims to centralize student services, career development, and collaborative study spaces into one hub. HOK, the architecture firm tasked with the design, sought to harmonize the new structure with the iconic Innovation, Science and Technology building originally envisioned by Santiago Calatrava. Skanska USA Building will oversee construction, which is scheduled to break ground in the spring.
University President Dr. Devin Stephenson described the center as the future heartbeat of the campus, emphasizing that the facility is essential for supporting the recent 90% surge in enrollment since Fall 2024. Beyond classrooms, the building will house an auditorium and multimedia environments tailored for STEM students. Completion of the project is slated for Fall 2028, providing a permanent home for career and internship services as the institution scales its operations to meet high industry demand.
