FIT Launches Speaker Series to Bridge Creative Education and Industry

Creative industries are navigating a period of intense volatility, from the integration of artificial intelligence to shifts in consumer behavior. To address these challenges, the Fashion Institute of Technology is launching a public programming series, inviting global visionaries to dissect the innovations currently reshaping the professional landscape.

The initiative, titled FIT Future//Forward Conversations, serves as the cornerstone of President Jason Schupbach’s strategy to position the college as a primary laboratory for creative business careers. The programming splits into two distinct formats: the Presidential Speaker Series and the Innovation Speaker Series. While the former hosts top-tier CEOs and executives for dialogues with Schupbach, the latter focuses on the intersection of journalism and design, featuring creators and critics in unscripted, open discussions.

Public registration is now open for a lineup that includes Kering Americas president Ewa Abrams and Spin Master co-founder Ronnen Harary. Other scheduled contributors span the spectrum of modern media and fashion, ranging from Vogue’s Chloe Malle to designer Edvin Thompson. These sessions will be held at the Bob Fisch Presentation Hall on the FIT campus, with digital access provided via livestream for remote audiences. By facilitating these exchanges, the institution aims to ground its academic mission in the immediate, often unformed realities of the current marketplace.
