Accuray and Samsung NeuroLogica Partner to Enhance CyberKnife Imaging

The initiative seeks to blend Samsung’s expertise in mobile computed tomography with Accuray’s precision treatment delivery systems. By enabling clinicians to view target anatomy and surrounding tissues directly within the treatment environment, the companies hope to support more informed decision-making and potentially facilitate adaptive radiotherapy workflows.

Professor Nicholas van As of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, the first global site to participate in this joint effort, noted that combining imaging with CyberKnife’s non-coplanar delivery could eventually allow for treatment adjustments based on a patient’s anatomy on the day of the procedure. While the project remains in the development phase, both firms emphasize that this partnership represents a shift toward addressing clinical needs through targeted, external technological integration rather than relying solely on internal research and development.
