IDEAYA Biosciences Elevates Michael White to President of R&D

CEO Yujiro S. Hata credited White’s leadership for the company’s recent progress in targeting challenging indications, including uveal melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and various forms of lung and breast cancer. In his expanded capacity, White will oversee the firm’s strategy for both early-stage programs and late-stage candidates, with a specific focus on small molecules and antibody-drug conjugates. White joined IDEAYA in 2021 following a high-profile tenure at Pfizer, where he served as Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Tumor Biology. His background also includes over two decades in academia at UT Southwestern, where he focused on cell biology and cancer intervention. A recipient of the National Cancer Institute’s inaugural Outstanding Investigator's Award, White brings a track record of more than 150 published papers to his new position as the firm looks to establish new standards of care for molecularly defined cancers.
