HONOR Secures Second Place in Middle East Smartphone Market
While regional smartphone shipments contracted by 13 percent in the first half of 2026, HONOR defied the downturn with a 35 percent surge in growth. This trajectory has propelled the brand into the region's number two spot, transforming it from a niche challenger into a dominant force across the Middle East.
The company’s expansion centers on a multi-pronged strategy that segments the region by its specific economic drivers. In the UAE, HONOR has established high-end experience stores in major hubs like Dubai Festival City and Al Reem Mall to court premium consumers with a full ecosystem of laptops, wearables, and tablets. Conversely, Saudi Arabia serves as the brand's primary engine for scale. With 25 dedicated experience stores and a robust network of 16 service centers, the Kingdom has become the anchor for HONOR's AIoT business, which recently recorded 500 percent growth.
Beyond retail, HONOR is embedding itself into the regional supply chain. The company is scaling its industrial facility in Egypt’s 10th of Ramadan city, creating an export hub capable of producing three million smartphones annually. This facility, the company’s first manufacturing site outside China, is designed to bypass import barriers and stabilize logistics for the broader Arab market.
This growth is underpinned by the ALPHA PLAN, a transition from traditional handset manufacturing to an AI-driven device ecosystem. By integrating hardware capabilities—such as advanced thermal management and robotic gimbals—with professional-grade imaging, HONOR is positioning its devices to thrive in the region’s demanding climate. As the firm eyes further B2B integration in Saudi Arabia and expanded manufacturing in Egypt, its momentum suggests a long-term shift toward hardware-led AI dominance.
