Fitzgerald Financial Group Moves to Cetera Following LPL Acquisition
John Fitzgerald, a veteran financial advisor previously with Commonwealth Financial Network, has moved his New Jersey-based practice to Cetera. The firm, which manages approximately $185 million in assets under administration, opted for the transition after conducting extensive due diligence following LPL’s acquisition of his former broker-dealer.

The Vineland-based team, led by Fitzgerald and joined by financial professionals Doug Kramer and Gary Bolno along with assistant Tatyana Shevchuk, serves roughly 400 households across 1,300 accounts. Fitzgerald noted that he bypassed an automatic transition to LPL, choosing instead to vet multiple firms to ensure a stable environment for the next two decades of his practice. He ultimately selected Cetera’s Summit Financial Networks, citing a service-oriented culture that mirrors his experience at Commonwealth.
Fitzgerald attributes his growth to a referral-based model rather than the acquisition of books of business, a strategy he intends to maintain while exploring inorganic growth options. The practice recently purchased an office building in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, to facilitate expansion. Tom Halloran, Cetera’s Advisor Channel Leader, welcomed the team, emphasizing that their hands-on, family-style approach aligns with the support structure within the Summit network.
