Texas Voters Face October 5 Registration Deadline
Texans planning to cast ballots in the November 3 general election have until October 5 to finalize their voter registration. Secretary of State Robert S. Howden emphasized that residents who have recently moved or have yet to register must act quickly to ensure their eligibility for the upcoming cycle.
To participate in the November contest, applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and residents of the county where they register. Officials advise voters to confirm their current status or submit new applications through the state portal at VoteTexas.gov. For those submitting paper forms via mail, the application must be postmarked by the October 5 deadline. To guarantee a valid postmark, residents can visit a USPS retail location and request a manual stamp at the counter when presenting their documents.
