Huntington Bank Expands Charlotte Presence with Uptown Skyline Signage

The bank will occupy two additional floors at 101 S. Tryon St., bringing its total footprint in the 40-story building to four full floors. This expansion supports a workforce currently numbering several hundred employees in the greater Charlotte area. The new signage, fabricated by Rock Hill-based SouthWood Corporation, features programmable lighting capable of shifting colors to align with community observances.

This growth follows a series of strategic moves by the Columbus-based institution to capture market share in the region. Since 2023, the bank has aggressively scaled its commercial banking and capital markets operations in North Carolina and South Carolina. These efforts include a 2024 initiative to establish roughly 55 new physical branches across both states, 14 of which are already operational. For Huntington President Brant Standridge, the investment serves as a tangible metric of the bank's long-term strategy to prioritize local relationships and deepen its presence in the Carolinas.
