Target Cuts Prices on 2,000 Items Ahead of Holiday Shopping Season
With the holiday shopping season approaching, Target is slashing prices on nearly 2,000 home and apparel items. This move follows a year of aggressive discounting, as the retailer attempts to capture budget-conscious families by lowering the cost of staples ranging from winter boots to household bedding.

The latest reductions encompass a wide array of categories, including men's, women's, and children's clothing. For instance, women's long-sleeve tees have dropped to $12 from $15, while the average cost of women's footwear has fallen to $35. Children’s winter and rain boots are also seeing a price decrease of approximately 15% compared to last year.
Home goods are receiving similar adjustments, with the company refreshing its bedding department. Threshold queen comforters now retail for $69, down from $89, and Room Essentials versions have been reduced to $40. Cara Sylvester, Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, noted that the initiative aims to help families manage costs while maintaining access to the retailer's design-focused product lines. These changes arrive ahead of the Target Circle Deal Days event, scheduled for October 6-7, which offers further savings for loyalty program members.
