OpenAssets Unveils Sentinel to Automate Tokenized Market Compliance

Pittsburgh-based OpenAssets has launched Sentinel, an AI-driven platform designed to replace manual compliance reporting with continuous, machine-readable audit trails. By binding regulatory obligations directly to digital asset controls, the system aims to modernize how institutions verify tokenized securities and stablecoin transactions without the burden of retroactive spreadsheet management.

Traditional compliance often relies on after-the-fact documentation, resulting in static folders of screenshots that struggle to keep pace with continuous settlement. Sentinel shifts this paradigm by mapping compliance obligations to technical controls at the point of creation. When a control is satisfied, the system generates an immutable, append-only audit log entry, allowing auditors and counterparties to verify coverage through direct queries rather than manual data requests.

The platform integrates with existing financial messaging standards—including ISO 20022, ISIN, and ERC-3643—ensuring that compliance evidence remains interoperable with current institutional infrastructure. Every inference generated by the platform’s AI model requires human review, with both the suggestion and the subsequent decision logged permanently. This structure ensures that proof is not only verifiable but also portable across different counterparties.

"Compliance on tokenized markets breaks down for one reason: proof doesn't travel," said Surendra Kalidindi, COO and CTO of OpenAssets. By moving away from subjective manual reporting, the firm intends to establish a new benchmark where audit readiness is a constant state rather than a periodic project. OpenAssets is currently collaborating with the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust to publish the control mapping schemas that power the platform.
