ADAMA Introduces Rexaro Fungicide to Protect Indian Specialty Crops
Grape, potato, and vegetable growers in India now have access to Rexaro, a dual-action fungicide developed by ADAMA to combat Oomycete diseases. The product, which utilizes the company's proprietary Ayalon technology, aims to provide both preventive and early curative protection against common threats like late blight and downy mildew.
Field trials across the region confirmed the fungicide's efficacy in managing downy mildew in cucumbers and grapes, alongside late blight affecting potato harvests. The formulation is engineered for high performance in varied field conditions, featuring enhanced spreading capabilities and rainfastness that helps ensure the chemical remains effective after application.
Jean Zonato, head of global fungicides at ADAMA, noted that the rapid spread of Oomycete pathogens often compromises crop quality. By integrating two distinct modes of action, the product offers a more flexible tool for farmers managing complex disease profiles, including root rot in tomatoes and mildew in brassicas. Beyond the Indian market, the company intends to expand the availability of Rexaro to Ghana, where it will be used to support cacao production.
