Portage Point Elevates Steven Shenker to Co-Head of Restructuring
Steven Shenker has been promoted to Co-Head of Turnaround and Restructuring Services at Portage Point Partners, joining Tom Studebaker to steer the firm’s strategy. The appointment follows a period of rapid scaling for the Chicago-based advisory firm as demand for complex financial restructuring intensifies across the middle market.
Since joining Portage Point in 2020, Shenker has managed more than 50 restructuring and turnaround assignments. His track record includes serving as Chief Restructuring Officer and Chief Transformation Officer for organizations such as Blink Fitness, the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, and QC Supply. Founder and CEO Matthew Ray noted that the leadership expansion reflects the firm’s need to address increasingly complex operational situations.
Studebaker emphasized that Shenker’s appointment is designed to bolster the firm’s capacity to navigate the shifting private credit landscape. The leadership team plans to focus on recruiting senior talent and broadening the firm’s service capabilities. This move coincides with the firm's recent growth, supported by minority investments from New Mountain Capital in 2024 and 2026.
