Joe Richardson Named 2026 Attorney of the Year by Fields Bar Association

Richardson leads the Racial & Economic Justice Practice at McCune Law Group, where he focuses on securing settlements for individuals and nonprofits marginalized by discriminatory policies. His work often addresses resource disparities, targeting cases where clients have been systematically sidelined. The bar association, established in 2010 to honor the first African American judge in Riverside County, selected Richardson for his alignment with their mission to increase representation and equity within the legal profession.

Beyond his courtroom practice, Richardson maintains a high public profile as a legal analyst for networks including CNN and Law&Crime. He also hosts the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Inland Edition and serves as an adjunct professor at La Verne College of Law. Reflecting on the recognition, Richardson emphasized the importance of the association’s long-term commitment to opening doors for minority attorneys, noting that he intends to use the platform to further highlight cases of systemic inequity.
