Samsung Refreshes Galaxy Tab S12 Series with Focus on the Plus Model

The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus serves as a direct successor to the two-year-old Tab S10 Plus, packing a 12.6-inch display that is both larger and brighter than its predecessor despite a thinner, lighter chassis. Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset provides a two-generation jump in performance, while a larger 10,600mAh battery supports the hardware. These upgrades justify the $200 price hike, bringing the starting cost to $1,199.

Conversely, the Tab S12 Ultra remains largely unchanged from the Tab S11 Ultra, retaining the 14.6-inch screen, 11,600mAh battery, and 5.1mm profile. The primary differences are a chipset refresh and improved four-channel spatial audio. With a $1,399 price tag, the Ultra asks for the same $200 premium as the Plus, despite offering fewer tangible benefits. Both tablets arrive with IP68 water resistance, 1,600-nit OLED panels, and a seven-year software support commitment. A key addition is the Android debut of Adobe Photoshop for Tablets, which launches as a six-month Samsung exclusive. Both devices will be available for purchase starting October 7th.
