ChemDAQ and Associated Health Systems Partner to Monitor Hospital Air

The alliance combines ChemDAQ’s specialized sensor technology with the distribution network of Associated Health Systems, which has supplied Canadian healthcare facilities for over 35 years. By integrating continuous monitoring systems into medical device reprocessing units, the companies seek to replace guesswork with objective data, allowing technicians to manage air quality with the same rigor applied to patient safety standards.

"This partnership gives Canadian hospitals direct access to technology that helps teams understand and reduce chemical exposure risks in their own departments," said Alex Hilliker, Executive Vice President at ChemDAQ. Joel Rikley, President of Associated Health Systems, noted that the initiative focuses on bringing global safety standards to local reprocessing environments.

The companies will formally introduce their joint offering at the Canadian Association of Medical Device Reprocessing conference, scheduled for October 22–24, 2026, in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador. Representatives will host an educational session on October 22 titled "Annexes 4c – Are You Safe? How Do You Know? Chemical Exposure in MDR," where they will discuss the risks associated with high-level disinfectants and the growing international emphasis on managing short-term exposure limits.
