WovenX Health Launches National Network to Streamline Colonoscopies
A 2023 study published in JAMA Network Open revealed that barely half of patients complete a follow-up colonoscopy within six months of a positive stool-based screening test. Seeking to bridge this critical care gap, Chicago-based WovenX Health has established a specialized GI procedural network spanning all 50 states.
The initiative connects patients who receive positive non-invasive screening results directly with participating gastroenterology practices and health systems. By utilizing WovenX's Fast Track pathways, the platform facilitates the intake process and prioritizes scheduling, ensuring that a positive test result transitions into a clinical appointment rather than a bureaucratic delay. This infrastructure arrives as the NCQA prepares to introduce the COF-E measure in 2027, which will officially grade health plans based on their ability to secure follow-up colonoscopies for at-risk patients.
Dr. Russ Arjal, co-founder and chief medical officer, emphasizes that every uncompleted colonoscopy represents a missed opportunity for early intervention. Participating providers gain access to standardized pre-procedural data through the company’s secure platform at no additional cost. The startup’s efforts to modernize specialty care access have earned it a quarterfinalist spot in the 2026 Digital Health & AI Awards, with winners to be announced at the upcoming HLTH conference in Las Vegas.
