The ASR-D501 serves as a unified hub for complex tasks including SLAM, obstacle avoidance, and GNSS-denied navigation. By localizing perception and mission-level workloads on the drone, the unit allows the primary flight controller to dedicate its processing power to stabilization and actuator control. The hardware supports five 4-lane MIPI-CSI interfaces, enabling high-resolution camera arrays alongside connectivity for LiDAR, depth sensors, and various flight-control ecosystems like PX4 and ArduPilot.

Designed for industrial deployment, the board measures 100 by 60 millimeters and weighs approximately 50 grams. The fanless architecture maintains performance in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 70°C, supported by vibration resistance and ESD protection. Developers can leverage the pre-integrated Advantech Robotic Suite, which runs on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS to bridge high-level ROS 2 applications with standard flight-control protocols. This release marks a significant step in the company's hardware roadmap, which expects further expansion into mid-range Qualcomm CQ8-based solutions by 2027.
