Patients at the New Hampshire-based Atlantic Digestive Specialists are grappling with a significant security breach after unauthorized actors accessed sensitive medical and personal records over a two-day window in March. The medical group confirmed that the exposure includes everything from Social Security numbers to detailed clinical treatment histories.
The incident first surfaced in March 2026 when the firm detected suspicious network activity. Forensic experts brought in to investigate confirmed that intruders maintained access to the systems between March 16 and March 17. Following a months-long review that concluded in August, the organization finalized its list of impacted individuals and began formal notifications on September 30.
The scope of the compromised data is extensive. Exposed files contain financial account numbers, driver's licenses, passport details, and specialized medical records, including diagnoses, prescription history, and health insurance policy information.
