Michael Stibilj Named CEO of Emerald Clinical Trials
With over three decades of industry experience, Michael Stibilj takes the helm at Singapore-based Emerald Clinical Trials on October 1, 2026. His appointment signals a strategic push to expand the firm’s global footprint, leveraging his background in steering complex organizational transformations across the Asia-Pacific region.

Stibilj arrives at Emerald Clinical following a six-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer at Novotech. His leadership history includes three years as CEO of PPC Group and a 22-year career at IQVIA, where he held various regional and global roles. This transition follows a pivotal year for the company, marked by the acquisition of Hongyi Clinical Development Services, which expanded the organization to over 1,000 professionals operating in more than 40 countries.
Sean Carney, Chairman of the Board, credited outgoing interim CEO Glenn Kerkhof for maintaining growth and stability during the transition period. Kerkhof will retain his seat on the Board to serve in an advisory capacity. Stibilj intends to capitalize on the rapid expansion of clinical development pipelines, focusing on integrating technological advancements with the firm's established reach in China, Singapore, and Australia. Emerald Clinical currently partners with 160 biotechnology companies and 15 of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical firms, providing end-to-end research solutions from early-phase trials to post-marketing studies.
