Drivers' Title Race Heads to Sardinia for WRC Finale

The 2026 World Rally Championship season reaches its climax in Alghero, Italy, as Rally Italia Sardegna replaces the Saudi Arabian event to host the final showdown. Running from October 1 to 4, the gravel contest will serve as the definitive battleground for the Drivers' Championship title.

Now in its 23rd iteration, the rally demands precision across 17 special stages totaling 307.02 kilometers. Drivers face a technical gauntlet of narrow, winding tracks, blind crests, and the infamous Micky's Jump. The terrain, characterized by deep ruts and sharp, rocky sections, places extreme stress on mechanical components and vehicle stability.

Hankook, the series' exclusive tire supplier, is deploying its Dynapro R213 rubber in both Hard and Soft compounds to manage the unpredictable October weather and rough gravel. This deployment follows Toyota GAZOO Racing’s success in Chile, where Oliver Solberg’s victory clinched the team’s sixth consecutive Manufacturers' Championship. With the constructor title already decided, the focus shifts entirely to the individual driver standings in Sardinia.
